Geophysical Survey for Pipeline Construction: Detecting Karst Formations with Microtremor and Electrical Methods

In a recent project, a geophysical contractor employed advanced detection methods to assess underground karst distributions in an area designated for a water supply pipeline installation. During drilling, a karst cave was unexpectedly discovered. To mitigate construction risks, various geophysical methods, including the microtremor method and high-density electrical testing, were applied to detect and map the underground features before further construction.
